The workshops that Adina Bar-On conducts enable her student to identify their individual processes of communicating – whether in art or otherwise; this experience of self-observation enables the students to make comparisons between their conduct in daily life and their own processes of creating art.

 

The exercises are conducted by simple instructions by which the movements are not beyond the ordinary and every day; small and big steps, fast and slow steps; forward and backward, side way and diagonal steps; postures of bending, crouching, sitting, reclining, laying down and the gazes that qualify the place.
The instructions become more engaging when the thoughts, that privately accompany the process of carrying out the exercises, are referred to as movements in themselves – movement of the ligaments, torso, head, eyes and – thoughts.

 

The students experience a personal-research by which they become more aware of their own patterns of movement and thus the processes by which their art is created.

In 2025 I instructed Aviv Keshet and Eram Aghbarih , a Jewish and a Muslim, both Israeli artists, towards an evening which was titled:”Red blanket and an empty span”. During our work together, the two performances evolved into a manifestation of the two cultures in Israeli society and quite unexpectedly, I also became a performative component in the presentation. – The presentation was hosted by Hadasah Cohen at Kfar Saba Municipal Gallery.
